About the Ball Placement Tools

The Ball Placement Tools are a two-piece training system designed to take the guesswork out of positioning standard 2.25-inch pool balls when creating drills and repeatable practice layouts.

The hinged Spacer Tool provides several ball-relative measurements for accurately establishing distances between balls, rails, and other reference points. Once the desired distance is established, the Ball Marker can be placed against the spacer to identify the exact ball position and accurately place a reinforcement label on the table.

This makes it easy to build repeatable drills using measurements such as a quarter ball, half ball, or full ball rather than estimating positions by eye. The tools can also be used to capture existing layouts so they can be recreated and practiced multiple times.

Ball Marker

The Ball Marker is one ball long and half a ball wide. It can be used like a traditional referee ball marker to identify a ball's position before temporarily removing it.

An integrated opening also allows a reinforcement label to be accurately placed at the ball's position, turning the marker into a tool for creating repeatable practice layouts.

Spacer Tool

The hinged Spacer Tool provides multiple ball-relative spacing references:

  • Flat: 1¼-ball length
  • Short side raised: 1-ball length
  • Long side raised: ½-ball length
  • Both sides raised: ¼-ball length
  • Tool width: ¾-ball width
