About the Tip Shaper Tools
The Tip Shaper Tools are a two-piece set designed for shaping and correcting cue tips while maintaining a compact, cue-case-friendly design.
The dual-sided Tip Shaper provides both dime and nickel shaping profiles. Each side uses a 60-grit abrasive surface to intentionally remove tip material, allowing the playing surface to be rounded and shaped to the desired profile. The faces are marked with an "N" for nickel and "D" for dime for easy identification.
The separate Tip Deshroomer is designed to help correct a cue tip that has begun to mushroom by applying pressure to the flared material rather than cutting it away.
How to Use
Tip Shaper
Select the desired shaping profile using the "N" for nickel or "D" for dime marking. Place the cue tip against the abrasive surface and use a controlled scuffing motion while rotating the cue to evenly shape the entire tip.
Check the shape frequently as you work. The 60-grit abrasive is designed to aggressively remove material, so use light pressure and work gradually until the desired tip profile is achieved.
Tip Deshroomer
Press the mushroomed portion of the cue tip between the arms of the Tip Deshroomer and apply gentle, even pressure. Rotate the cue, apply pressure again, and repeat around the circumference of the tip.
Continue rotating and repeating the process until the flared material has been worked back toward the center and the tip is no longer mushroomed.
